The Welk Lake property is located 44 kilometers north-northeast of La Ronge, Saskatchewan and 20 Kilometers south-southwest of the community of Missinipi, Saskatchewan. The property is currently accessed by provincial highway 102 from LaRonge or Missinipi and by boat from the Mackay Lake Recreation Site. The property consists of five mineral claims totaling 1,107.5 hectares which are 100% owned by Ripple Exploration Ltd. (‘RIPPLE’). The project covers historically known gold and base metal showings and lies three kilometers northwest of the past producing Contact Lake Gold Mine (aka the Bakos Gold Deposit), which produced 167,385 ounces gold.

Rock Types: Meta-Sediments - dark to green grey hornblende schist - gneissic bands and lit-par-lit injections occur locally. This corresponds to “Layered grey to black mafic and calcareous granulites, schists and gneisses.” (Forsythe’s unit 5). Granodiorite - A pinkish grey, medium grained and equigranular rock composed of plagioclase (25%), orthoclase (20%), biotite (25%), hornblende (20%) and quartz (10%). Diorite - A grey, fine grained, equigranular rock composed of plagioclase (35%), biotite (35%), hornblende (25%) and quartz (5%). Dykes - Minor andesitic and aplitic dykes.

Structures: Contacts and meta-sedimentary bedding have east-west contacts instead of the typical regional northeasterly trend. Lewry’s compilation mapping indicates that the northeasterly trending La Ronge Domain rocks of the Sulphide Lake, Pap Lake area, swing to the northwest and west through Ramsland Lake and Teneycke Lake and then resume their northeasterly trend north of MacKay Lake. The meta-sediments typically stirke 8O° and dip steeply south, although vertical and steep northerly dips are not uncommon. The schist intrusive contact is offset by a major displacement. Two faults appear to account for this displacement. Three lesser displacements are also assumed to be due to faulting along a contact to the northeast. (David R. Morgan 1986).
